Television Without Pity has put Doctor Who on permanent hiatus. Wherefore?
Was there a lack of (US) interest? I can't see how. My newspaper's run at least two articles on the Series* 3, and that's pretty impressive for a British import that airs on cable. Was Jacob too busy and they couldn't find anyone suitably crazy to fill his shoes? I was really looking forward to him waxing batshit about Martha and all else.
I'm very disappointed! Reading TWoP recaps is half the reason I watch TV.

And no reason given, just evasion and rudeness when asked. (From Wing Chun, not from Jacob. . .I get the vibe Jacob is just trying to keep things smoothed over and is in an awkward position.) I sometimes hate the way TWoP is run like a secretive dictatorship.
I've never been able to get into Doctor Who, in any of its incarnations. There's just something about British sci fi...like, even the thought of Space: 1999 makes me want to lie down in a dark room with a cold compress on my forehead. I'm sad for you, though.
But I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Jacob is...of less than sound mind. People on the BSG forums seem to think highly of his recaps, but every time I read them it's like one startlingly lucid insight surrounded by peyote-induced ramblings.

Um, wow.
Jacob is completely insane, but I love him for it. His reviews are decidedly stream-of-conscious, and you do get a lot of garbled nonsense and mental driftwood in that. But if you go with it, you realize that he's sometimes utterly brilliant and almost always highly entertaining. I loved his Doctor Who reviews because he took it way more seriously than anyone else, and risked sounding like a complete fool because of it, but it turned out to be something wonderful. For me, anyway.
I checked out the review thread in the general forums, and it looked like he had made a reply that was a distilled version of his reviews. I'd love to read it, but I loathe the TWoP boards and I don't want to start frequenting them. I'm very sad that the bureaucracy of the forums is spilling overtly into the recap process now. Although perhaps this is better. I like so many of the reviewers from their recaps, even though I know deep down that they must be horrible batshit power-mongers on their forums.
Are you a member of the forums? If so, you could just view all Jacob's posts and read his reviews that way.
