So, I watched this episode late last night again (my last opportunity), and now here it is 4:30 the next day and I'm still stumbling over a review. I had planned to watch it again before attempting, but, man, screw that. I read over the review thread for "Origin" and then I started thinking all these complex thoughts, and ... now I'm tired. There are so many things that sound good in my head but will never be heard by others because I exhaust myself of the subject before writing anything down.
It's not always about Jesus. Hee!
Anyway.

Well, I'll tell you what. I was greatly entertained by this episode. I really don't know what the hell was going on for most of it, but I was entertained. I still haven't really sorted it out. But you know how sometimes, when you watch something sci-fi (strike one - Angel should not do sci-fi), and stuff will happen that you don't really understand, but you don't really feel all that compelled to figure it out, either, because you realize it's just a bunch of nonsense flung together for the sake of convenience, and trying to make sense of it really isn't going to help anything?
This whole episode was like that. I just sort of put my hands up and said, "Okay! Whatever!" Because, as stated, I was entertained. And why mess with that?
Although, for a moment, I really did wonder if they were going to kill off almost all the main characters mere episodes before the end of the series. (Oh my God! Only three more episodes!) Would they do that?! Well, no. Obviously. But for a few seconds I thought they might, and I was really excited and intrigued about how that would work.
But all the superfluous stuff was good! Lorne saying, "And yet, I still like him better than Eve." Oh, Lorne. Yes. I love you. I know people keep calling Adam Baldwin "Jayne," but I've never seen Firefly, so I just can't get on that wagon. For me, he'll always be Animal Mother. But, whatever, because he's awesome. But he makes me sad. Because why did they have to have Eve for most of the season? So she could have sex with Lindsey? Woe betide! Having Adam Baldwin in this role just makes me realize how nice it is to watch actors who are really good.
On the flip side, Jaime Bergman. Oh, man. Oh man. I've never seen her in anything prior to this. I just ... Okay, listen. Menfolk. Let's say there's a special lady in your life. She agrees to marry you and maybe even secure your genetic immortality by giving you some offspring. You may feel like you owe this woman a great deal. And you do. However, this does not make it okay to allow her to do a job for which she is clearly unqualified, especially when doing so puts others in danger. In danger of the pain like the pain I had to endure watching this woman on screen. Oh, ladies, same sentiment, genders reversed.
Seriously, the chick makes Sarah Thompson look like Judi fucking Dench. I wonder how many desks Boreanaz had to kneel under to get this to happen.
Moving on. I love the way Gunn's story is being handled. Really. This is the one thing that they have been completely solid on this season. Especially, I like the fact that it actually keeps *moving forward* instead of just getting arbitrarily "resolved" in some episode. Like, they keep having all these issues brought up, and they then do nothing with it, and then some amount of episodes later, boop!, it's *resolved*. And then in the next episode everyone just goes about their business. Because that issue has been *resolved*. But this isn't like that. It keeps growing and changing, and *evolving*, which is so much better. Now that's how you tell a story.
So, Illyria rescued Gunn. So his story kept up the perfectly appropriate pace and Gunn continues to evolve. Furthermore, we deal with the whole Illyria situation head on, which I liked because it made her interesting again. I liked all her thoughts on "winning." Hmm. Her ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to her newsletter. There were some quotes I really liked in this episode, but I'm too lazy to go check to see what they were. Maybe next time I'll take notes. Anyway, they addressed the fact that she's been hanging oddly around Wesley, which is good, because I was wondering about that. They both showed her to be a threat and kept her manageable, which is good. They figured out a way for her to be useful in a way that makes sense and is intriguing.
Which leads to the end with Angel and Gunn. I am intrigued! So, Angel thinks they have an ace in the hole against the Senior Partners (Illyria), and so is willing to lose this one person to evil in order to ... keep things calm until they make their big move? Maintain the element of surprise? At any rate, he's willing and eager to make a deal/trade in order to achieve the ultimate win. And Gunn's position is so totally different. He knows that deals/trades are not good things to make, and I especially liked his line, "She is our next move!" Who's right? I'm betting it's Gunn, especially since it really seems like Angel isn't at all sure of what he's doing.
But a final note - what with Wesley going all Gollum in his office? It's fucking CREEPY.

Well, okay, anyway...
I was forced into going to the mall today. I am not a mall person. My original declaration was that I wanted to get a pair of nice shoes. Because I sort of ... don't have any. I am not a shoe person, either. Anyway, the trip was unsuccessful in that regard. I'm not surprised. It's nearly impossible to find shoes that fit my short, square, high-arched feet. Although not if I order my footwear from the UK. Which I guess I'll just have to do from now on, as overwhelming scientific evidence tells me that my feet are English.
I also think I'm allergic to the mall. There are so many stores full of smells that practically knock me over as I walk past them. It was all teary eyes and nose blowing and coughing. Also, I was very warm. Furthermore, I could barely walk around because I felt like I was weighted down, perhaps from hauling around my massive coat that my mother insists I wear when she suspects it will be even the slightest bit cold.
However! I managed to hear a song on the radio today! Well, a couple, but I'd been waiting to hear this one again, because I heard it several weeks ago and then could never remember what it sounded like. It's another one of those songs that's ubiquitous in television commercials, especially on the WB. It's the one that has the line: "I don't wanna be anything other than what I been tryin'a be lately." Or something like that. Anyway, I bring it up because never has a song so confused me as this song has. The first time I heard it on the radio, the music started up and I thought: "What is this, Alice in Chains?" And then the singing started and I thought: "Who is this, Neil Young?" And then the chorus started up and I thought: "What is this, hip hop?" Then I had to wonder if I didn't sorta like this song, despite the fact that it made me think Alice in Chains and Neil Young got together and did a hip hop song. But after a second listen, I conclude, no. Not really. So, suck it, that song.
So, anyway, now onto an Angel review! I actually watched this at about 1 o'clock in the morning, because I had it taped from before (and the next episode as well). This turned out to be a good thing, as I'm still more awake then than I am at 8 in the morning. Anyway, this episode? There is nothing wrong with this episode. There is nothing wrong at all with this episode. I love this episode. I want to watch it again and again forever, that's how much I like this episode. So, suck it, puppets.
[Begin Spoiler for "Origin" Highlight to view]
THE KARTHEISER!! I love Vincent Kartheiser so much. And not just because his name sounds so German. This show really lucked out when they cast him, because this boy is really phenomenally talented. Seriously. I love him so much. This episode really would not have worked if anyone else had played Connor.
"Do you spend all your time making out with other vampires, like in Anne Rice novels?"
"No. Well... I used to."
I repeat: NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS EPISODE.
Seriously, everything was great. Everything! Well, except maybe Illyria. I was entertained by her pummeling of Spike, but other than that ... she's kind of boring. I hope that stops soon. She has great potential. Oh, also! Speaking of "she" - I notice that Wesley does. This is only significant because they made such a point of making Illyria seem either male or genderless, and now Wesley calls it "she" like it ain't no thang. Oh Wesley. Oh Wesley.
There are lot of other things I could talk about, but they basically boil down to: great. Sahjan! Connor! Cool bad guy! Really good writing! Oh man, it's like an episode from back when the show was cool, and only Kirk and I really fully appreciated how cool it was.
Drew Goddard, rock rock on.

I'm going to watch it again later.

Um ... bluh.
[Begin Spoiler for "Underneath" Highlight to view]
I couldn't remember the title of this episode. I had to look it up, because I seriously had no idea. Also ... I can't really remember what happened. I watched the episode, and then I went back to sleep for two more hours, and now it's very blurry in my head. This is not a good sign.
Anyway: boring. This episode was totally boring. I was so bored. Also, apparently this episode originally aired a bunch of weeks after Shells. Even if I hadn't already known this beforehand, I would have known it from the way the dialogue and exposition were so thick and heavy. And since I only saw the last episode Friday evening, that made it all the more awkward. The rewatchability is low. The ... staying power is low. And this, folks, is why writing your episode around your slot schedule is bad. Especially now with rerun deals and DVDs sales, and all that nonsense. The exposition was written because when this first aired, it was five weeks removed from the previous episode. Therefore, it was written for a moment in time that was brief and fleeting and will never exist again. So what's the point of that?
Anyway, just about everything everyone said was boring. Except for what Lorne said. Because he sold it. And it was actually about his inner feelings, which is not something we're often treated to, so it was okay. Also, Angel's speech to Gunn was fairly decent. Because it shows some amount of character growth. I mean, I knew the "...and you should" part was coming. That's no big shock. But the "because you're a good man." And Angel recognizes that good people can make mistakes, and people can make mistakes and still be good. Compare this to his dealings with Wesley in Season 3. (Or was it 4?)
Yay! Lindsey's not dead. Nay! Eve's not dead. Seriously, in her last episode ... I didn't mind her so much. And her words and actions seemed to indicate that she really loved and cared about Lindsey, which melted my coldness towards her just the tiniest little bit. But she was back in form in this episode, and everything annoyed the crap out me. Compassion? Sympathy? Killed. I hate you Eve, please die. And look, it's Adam Baldwin! ("Hey, it's Adam Baldwin!" I cried when he first appeared on screen.) Why do they use so many Firefly actors? Could it be that they feel guilt? Like, they told the actors that it was going to be a good show, so they should count on having work for a while, and then ... they turned out to be big fat liars? Anyway, I like him. He's cool.
Oh! The credits!! That's right, the credits are totally different! Actually, I'm going to have to go back and watch those right now because I don't know who's in and who's out. Excuse me. [a moment later] Oh, okay. No one's out. I was confused when I first watched this, so for some reason I thought J. August Richards and Alexis Denisof were no longer in there. This affects later points in my review. So ... Harmony in. And Amy Acker as Illyria in. And ... did they move Marsters up to second billing? Why? And why when there are only five episodes left in the whole series? Didn't they once complain that changes like this cost money? This is the most interesting thing about the entire episode. It's a puzzle!
So ... I was going to ask if this is the complete and full run of Gunn's story now. But apparently it isn't if he's still in the credits. Or ... maybe he's not in next week's credits. I don't know! Anyway, dude. LAME. Or ... I don't know. BORING. Something like that.
Last bit of business, what was with all the layers? I mean, everything was about the freaking layers in this episode. It didn't make an ounce of sense. Unless ... someone wants to fill me in on the deep and important significance of layers. I realize that it is a metaphor of some sort ... but for what? Boring! No purpose! Moving on.
[End Spoiler]
Anyway, I've been told that I should write about things that aren't television shows. And I've protested that I haven't done anything to warrant blogging about. (It's true, I haven't!) So yesterday I went out and did things specifically so I could have something to blog about. (Not true, I didn't! It's just a side effect.)
My mother and I went to Central Park to see The Gates. You know, the orange things. If you've seen pictures, well. The pretty much look just like the pictures. Hilariously, when we were coming upon the park, you could see them from a few blocks away, so I pointed them out to my mother, who didn't know where I was pointing.
"Where are they?"
[pointing] "Right in front of you."
"Oh! I thought it was road construction!"
So, yeah. My main problem with the Gates is the color. It's not saffron. It's the color of construction. And given that there is actual construction going on around the city, signified by the same bright shade of orange, the "art" factor was kind of lost on me. They look like road blocks. It looks like they're doing roadwork in the park. That's what it looks like. It looks like construction. It's kind of dumb. I think this problem could have been easily avoided if they altered the color of their work just a bit. Made the orange more reddish, or maybe, you know, *actually* saffron. But it was okay.
Then my mother wanted to walk back along Fifth Avenue, because she hates me . Luckily, it's not Christmas or anything, so the throng of people were not quite so ... thronging. So it wasn't bad at all.
Near St. Patrick's there was an old gypsy looking woman holding a cup for donations. Because she was an old gypsy woman. Two women in long fur coats walked by, and one gave her a decent sum of money. "Bless you," said the little old gypsy woman. And the woman in the fur coat replied, "Thank you. I have been blessed. I've been very blessed." It was a strange moment, but made me feel good. I like when people are like that.
I'm still sometimes amazed that I live so close to New York City. I mean, seriously. It took twenty minutes to get from inside the Lincoln Tunnel to pull into my driveway. Well, almost. My mother has decided that, come the spring, she's going to make it a point to go more often. BECAUSE IT'S RIGHT FREAKING THERE!
I'm surprised that I'm not there more often. But then again, that would involve leaving the house. Which I seem slightly unable to do. I feel not good. It's like my body has no energy. My mind has no energy. And it's starting to worry me. I've been reading listings for auditions and then purposely "avoiding" them. Because physically I don't feel up to it. Sometimes I don't even feel up to mailing out headshots. I type out cover letters and find myself playing five games of Spider Soltaire like I'm trying to avoid doing a paper for a class. I am worrying about this. Honestly, right now, I'd be perfectly happy if I could spend every day in bed and not get up, even if that meant my life never changed or moved forward and I lost all opportunity to do anything ever again.
And I'm not depressed or anything. (Well, I probably am. About the situation, anyway.) It's physical. It's hormonal. It's from the fucking thyroid. I'm getting fat. I'm eating little. I can't exercise because I still have seizing cramps for random and not readily apparent reasons. And I'm tired. Not in the sense of feeling sleepy deprived, but I just feel weary. Like, I'm fully awake, but there's a physical barrier that prevents me from doing anything. And I can't think. If someone asks me a question my mind just produces a blank in response.
So that's a run down of what I've been doing with myself. Absolutely nothing. Back in December, I was filled with this seemingly inexhaustible energy and I felt happy and things were happening, and everything was good. And then one day I woke up, and all the energy was gone and everything stopped. So now I spend my days in a vaccuum. And I watch a lot of television. Because it's the most passive thing I can do short of waking up every day. And it's so boring that *I* don't even want to talk about it.
I couldn't remember the title of this episode. I had to look it up, because I seriously had no idea. Also ... I can't really remember what happened. I watched the episode, and then I went back to sleep for two more hours, and now it's very blurry in my head. This is not a good sign.

Thursday
Barely made it!
I totally watched two episodes in one day! Which I guess works out, since it was a two-part episode. On the other hand, I am tired as all hell. Today my mother said that my sister told her that she wanted to do that thing we did for Easter last year again for Easter this year. Um. What? For the life of me, I honestly cannot remember doing anything for Easter last year. My mother said that my sister came down, and she made waffles. And omelets. And bacon. And I had some bacon. And there were also mimosas.
THESE ARE OBVIOUSLY LIES! Because the only other alternative is that chunks of my memory are being wiped out. Because I don't remember a single bit of that.
And on that note, let's review!
[Begin Spoiler for "Shells" Highlight to view]
So, I liked this episode. It was kind of boring, and there was a lot of talking about nothing, but it was pretty inoffensive, and, I'm going to say right now, I like Illyria. Who is, apparently, a dude? The "a" is a masculine ending, or something? That's very Tolkien. This whole business with the pronouns she/he/it just confuses me. Is it genderless? Is it a boy? Is it now a chick? Or is it only now that it's genderless? Am I the only person wondering about these things?
Anyway, I like it. I think Amy Acker's jerking walk is totally cool. And her voice sounds more appealing. And she looks neat! The catsuit is stupid, though. I mean, seriously, seriously stupid.
That's what you get, Knox! That's what you get for being lame and aggravating me all episode. I found you harmless enough before, but in this episode, you deserved your death.
And on that note, JEHAYSUS CHRIST, Wesley! What is the matter with you? All shootin' and stabbin' people all willy nilly. Get the fuck over yourself you crazy menace to society! I'm sorry you lost the love of your past two episodes, but you need to be kicked in the face. Nine times. I'm willing to forgive you though for that whole "Because I look like her?" "... Yes." scene. Because you rocked that. Well done.
Poor Gunn. You're taking his Man versus Himself conflict and turning into a Man versus man conflict! I don't approve! I mean, yes, he did a bad thing for selfish reasons. But he didn't know the outcome. (Although, can I just say that I'm appalled that he didn't carefully read the document Harmony gave him to sign? HAS HE LEARNED NOTHING?) And everyone seems to be a little at fault in this situation, including, oh, say, Fred. Because in this instance, "curious" equals "stupid." Stupid, stupid, stupid. And even though I liked her, part of me feels she deserved to die. Because that was damn stupid.
But anyway, I like Illyria. Her/His/Its kingdom is destroyed and lost! I feel ya, sister! ... brother! ... thing! And I'm interested in this whole Teach the Timeless Demon thing. Because, hey, whatever. I'm open-minded.
A final note: Hey! I know that song! It's "A Place Called Home" by Kim Richey! Um. Wow, how strange. I complained about this in the past, didn't I? What is this, Smallville? I have decided that I don't like when they play a poignant song overlaying the action. At least, not on this show. It's fine on Smallville, because they do it all the time. It's a thing. But on Angel (or that one episode of Buffy) it's just ... out of place. And really corny feeling. Also, now that I've seen fan videos, I have concluded that this use of songs reminds me of fan videos. Hell, I think I may even have heard this song used in a "vid." And that's not good, because the writers should never replicate anything associated with fan creativity. It's just wrong. So, yeah. I didn't really care for that, even though I like the song. I hope the trend stops now.
[End Spoiler]
..Or did I get that song from Beth??
THESE ARE OBVIOUSLY LIES! Because the only other alternative is that chunks of my memory are being wiped out. Because I don't remember a single bit of that.

This episode was written and directed by Joss Whedon.
[Begin Spoiler for "A Hole In The World" Highlight to view]
The good news: Joss Whedon is a better writer and director than all the other writers and directors on this show combined.
The bad news: He's still a hack.
Examples: Cavemen vs. Astronauts. The first joke? Funny. The second joke? Still funny. By the time Fred and Wesley were still discussing it on the stairs? Oh my God so not funny anymore. I get it! Way to beat the goddamn joke to death! And I'm not sure about the tie-in to it at the end. What was that about, the demons are the cavemen, and they win over the more learned people? Eh, a fair point, but I still don't think we needed to have it beaten into us quite so thoroughly. Furthermore, I hope we all realize that the astronauts would get their asses handed to them. I mean, we're talking people who took down Pleistocene megafauna with freaking knives . Solid compact muscle, thick bones, skin toughened over with scars and calluses. The astronauts probably use moisturizer.
"You make me happy..." BOOM! Spurtin' blood and collapsing! Oh, Jesus Christ, Whedon! Speaking of boring the crap out of me. I can't even care anymore. FIND NEW GIMMICKS. The first time you do it is affecting and shocking. The fifth or tenth time you do it, it's a miraculous combination of lazily and desperately trying to be affecting and shocking. Ho fucking hum. And I think people have it backwards. Something bad didn't have to happen to one of them because they got together. They had to get together because something bad was going to happen to one of them. So Fred needed someone to never leave her, and comfort her, and cry over her, and amp up the emotion, and Wesley got that job because he was the easiest person to write into it. EASIEST. Because Whedon is all about doing what's easiest and convincing himself that it's genius.
Fred's blue! Yaaaaay! Um. I should clarify that I'm only cheering because that was the last thing I was spoiled for. And now that it happened I can watch the rest of the episodes being blissfully unaware of anything that will happen.
And, uh, despite Whedon being a hack, this episode was pretty darn good. Sorry to be misleading. All the actors gave great performances, even when the material was making me roll my eyes. The only thing that I don't think worked was Knox's reveal. I mean, I totally buy that he's evil, and that whole thing is his MO, but, come on. It? He either didn't play it enough like a slip, or didn't play it enough as an intentional wording. Because, seriously. Seriously.
Also, where are Fred's parents? Was there something that explained where they might be at the end of that last episode they were in? Or are they just at work? Anyway, it just distracted me.
But the list of things that were great is far longer. Gunn vs. Gunn. Awesome. Gunn signing the paper. Triple awesome. Lorne threatening Eve. Super awesome. (Even if the "all the boys love Fred" thing was ... odd.) The "hole in the world" and the keeping dude. Pretty cool. The fact that Angel got to make the choice (no fun if the character is robbed of choice) and he chose to save Fred. Excellent. Every scene with Amy Acker in it. She kicked about thirteen different kinds of ass. Also, Wesley reading A Little Princess. I teared up, because I am an enormous. freaking. girl.
So, my final verdict: Whedon is a douchebag, but he still does a fairly good episode on occasion.

I may watch "Shells" later today, because I have that taped from before. This means I will not have to wake up early tomorrow to see it. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THE DVDs. I do not know why I am this strange.

And I hope she doesn't read this review.
[Begin Spoiler for "Smile Time" Highlight to view]
So that was the puppet episode, huh? I should mention that despite my best efforts, there are several things for which I could not help but be spoiled. That this episode was about puppets was one of those things. That Cordy died without ever waking up was another. (I was pleasantly surprised to not have all the information on that one.) I was spoiled mainly through a profile picture on the board (tigger is the person's name?), and that picture contained a puppet Angel and a puppet Spike. So for this whole episode, I was waiting for Spike to get puppetized, and was confused when that didn't happen. Maybe it's an extra on the DVD. I COULD GO WATCH THE DVDs AND CHECK. [/subtle]
Yeah, so, as a rule, I don't find puppets intrinsically hilarious. By which I mean, I'm not entertained merely because there are puppets. You can blame a childhood orchestrated by Jim Henson. I'm cool with puppets being part of a story. So, I can't react with, "Heee! IT'S PUPPETS!" Or, "Angel is a puppet! Heeeeee!!!" Or, "They're fighting! And it's hilarious because they are puppets!!" ... I'm not that easy.
Moreover, I was really distracted by the Puppet Angel, because ... why is his puppet face so messed up? Seriously. Does his real face look like that? I mean, I get that they have him all frowning and brooding, and the prominent brows made me snort, but what's up with his mouth? Why is it all deformed and over to one side? It was really weird to look at. Also, I noticed after the attack that part of his eyebrow is still missing. I wonder if it will still be missing in the next episode. That would be neat. But also weird, since I bet that's probably a gang signal in Los Angeles.
However, I will give this episode many points for having the puppets be SO FREAKING CREEPY. I mean, you know, creepy and scary. Because the puppet ... getting off on the child energy? DISTURBING. So disturbing. And using David Fury as a puppet and laughing at him as he begged for death. DISTURBING. And yet very awesome. Another great moment was when Angel was walking around the studio and in the back very fuzzy you could see one of the camera operators just standing there. It was cool, but made Angel look highly unobservant that he didn't notice her.
I noticed that they used the same girl who played Anya's daughter in Hells Bells. They must really like her. Is she someone's kid?
The wolf chick: Okay. That's random. And it's a weird thing to just thrust at the viewers. "Hey Angel, you should casually date this girl! She's totally your type!" And she's been making moon eyes at him, eh? Perhaps it would have been nice to see her in at least one other episode prior to this, then. You know, for the sake of actually trying to build that story. I guess there wasn't enough time to do that and have the characters sit around uselessly and repeat exposition for the millionth time.
So, I guess they solved Gunn's problem? And ... it made no sense? Why did the doctor think it was impossible that Gunn's implant could be fading, if he then later admitted that he'd only given him a non-permanent one, and that there was a permanent type available? Lame. Also, it's interesting that a few episodes back, Gunn was chastising himself for not hitting stuff like he used to, yet as soon as his lawyer skillz start to go, he "can't go back to that." Either Gunn is a complex man, or the writers are confusing themselves.
Fred and Wesley. Well it's about freaking time! Seriously! I approve.
Also, David Fury sold his soul to some devils, but didn't read the fine print, and now he's being used as a puppet-figurehead, eh? I wonder if that has any parallels to the overall arc of this season! Seriously, are they just finding different ways in each episode of saying the exact same thing?
Other than that ... I felt like this episode left a lot of things not wrapped up. I almost wondered if TNT cut things out. I COULD GO WATCH THE DVDs AND CHECK. [/subtle] But ... why did Angel become a puppet? I mean, besides the fact that they wanted to make Angel a puppet. The big smiley ball is ... for what? Black market youthful energy? That made no sense. It made no sense that Angel became a puppet. Or that it will take days to turn him back. And how did all the workers become zombies? Who was that guy under the big smiley ball? David Fury? Why were they keeping him in there? What happened to all the people? And ... the demon puppets just die when you rip them apart? That's it? It's over? And where did Spike go in this episode?
Oh, speaking of which. Spike got his ass kicked by a puppet. That's just sad, man. Once you get your ass kicked by a puppet, you have hit a new low.

So, this episode was boring and lame. But moreover, it just bothered me. Because of the Nazis. It wasn't really that bad an episode. I can't rant and say it was horrible and devastating, because, really, it was just sort of ... there. But I've decided that I am fundamentally opposed to using Nazis as a plot device . It bothers me. So, I was unsettled by this episode. Why did they have to go there? Is my point.
So, Gunn is losing his lawyer knowledge. THIS IS OBVIOUS. (Unless it turns out that I'm wrong. Heh.) But, THIS IS OBVIOUS. It's one of the most obvious things that were ever obvious. Why? Because that was so completely unsubtle. About as subtle as Wesley calling Knox untrustworthy. GET IT? Because he likes Fred and is jealous of Knox! Which is why he's making such subtle comments about it! Both these lines had all the subtley of a sledgehammer. Gunn didn't stumble over that line like he was tired. He stumbled over it like his magically implanted legal knowledge was on the blink. That line serves no other person. BECAUSE IT IS SO OBVIOUS.
This episode did not do a lot to keep me awake this morning. As such, it wasn't until I was reading the TWoP recap just now that learned that some potentially amusing things were in there. Like when Angel said and wasn't going to be trapped at the bottom of the ocean, and Spike replied that he wasn't going to be experimented on by the government. Heh. Yeah, it's easy, but also amusing. Also, I missed the following gem from The Prince of Lies: "I will suck the brain from your skull and digest your thoughts like a sour pudding." Because, seriously? That line is awesome. If only I could get it to apply to more situations, I'd use it all the time. I also like the TWoP assessment of the actor, that he did a great impression of Willem Dafoe doing a great impression of Count Orlock. It's so true. I'm so sad he and the other guy died. They entertained me, and were the best thing about this episode. Oh, you know what else amused me, though? When the chap stated that he knew Angel when he was in his "patriotic phase" and then we immediately flash back to Angel sitting amongst newspapers looking solemn. Apparently, this wasn't meant to be funny, but it cracked me up, because I thought that *was* Angel in patriotic mode. Sort of like those posters that show "The Many Moods of Cats" where they have "happy," "sleepy," "patriotic," etc., and it's all the same face? That's what I thought they were doing here, and I was highly entertained. Oops.
In other news, Spike is stupid. Remember way back in School Hard when he figured Angel out and angrily shouted, "You think you can fool me?" Well, obviously Angel thought so because he's been so successful at it so many times in the past. I mean, yeesh. Seriously. I think Angel's guard should have been up. I think they had ample room to show Angel doing things that Spike could interpret as sadistic, but they didn't, and it just made everyone look stupid.
One point of contention, though: apparently everyone thinks Lawson's line about "blah blah blah, only your führer could come up with something like this, blah blah" was about experimenting on demons. What? Why would he care? I thought it was pretty obvious that he was talking about (and seriously, I hate even typing this, hate hate hate) the Nazis using demons as an army, to help them win the war. And the irony, of course (hate hate hate) is that the US Government, the "good guys" are doing the same thing - using evil to help them win the war. Which is again brought up by Lawson's assertion that there's a difference between fighting to win (which includes using whatever means necessary, like utilizing something evil) and fighting because you're moral and you're trying to do the right thing. AND OF COURSE, this directly corresponds to the whole Wolfram and Hart thing. They're utilizing something evil because they want to win at all costs. But what are the costs? Apparently, the costs are that you become no better than Nazis.
Can I state again how much I fucking hate the "using the Nazis" concept? HATE HATE HATE. But, anyway, yeah, there you go. THIS WAS ALSO OBVIOUS. Which is why it was so unnecessary. We know all this already! So what's with the redundacy, and what's with the fucking Nazis? Jesus!

Monday
Um. What?
I woke up at 8 to watch television! Having gone to sleep at 3 the previous night! Oh, my life is so hard.
[Begin Spoiler for "You're Welcome" Highlight to view]
That ... was ... totally ... good . What!? What happened? Didn't this show just suck incalculable ass not five minutes ago? I don't understand!
Apparently that was, like ... the point? Eve getting uncomfortabley under my skin, Spike continuing to exist, everyone being annoying, the terrible writing and painful dialogue, that was the plan all along? Because I think that's what I learned here!
Seriously, it was just ... good. This was my overwhelming impression. I'm trying to be insightful or otherwise comment-y, but it's not really happening. That was just like an Angel episode. I really enjoyed watching it. There was so much good dialogue! And even the things that were cheesy (and there were things that were cheesy) I like just because they were done well. Like, "I want to see a lawyer" - I'm amazed that line worked! But it totally did! And Lindsey was awesome. Because he is. And yet I'm glad that he lost, because I'm not weirdly fannish enough to think he deserves any better. (You couple people know what I mean.) And they solved problems! Oh my God! It was so nice to see things being resolved! And stuff happening, but not, you know "stuff that's almost huge but then turns out to be nothing." So good work, Fury! Now we can be friends.
They even managed to address my only major nitpick about the episode (that is, how did she get released from the hospital with so little fuss? I get it!) But this is not to suggest that I don't still have complaints! The exposition still needs work. Although it was much much better. Given all the backstory, they spent pleasingly little time discussing the backstory. But still, you know ... could have been better! Like, Angel and Cordy conversing about why he took over Wolfram and Hart. It was actually pretty good! It came out very naturally, and seems like it would really need to be a part of that conversation, and something he would actually have to say. That's great! I'm all for exposition if you can work it naturally into the dialogue. I mean, honestly, one of my favorite movies of all time is The Lion In Winter.[/not random if you've seen it] The only problem is that we'd already had a clunky "We took over Wolfram and Hart!" exposition moment earlier in the episode. Which was completely unnecessary! Also, talking about things that happened in the past DOES NOT EQUAL continuity. I'm afraid to read the WD reviews for this, because I know someone will be all over the wrong things and call them continuity. "Hey, Angel, remember when you cut off my hand?" Is not continuity. Is exposition, clunkiness variable. "I'm going to get a Seabreeze." Ding ding ding! Continuity! Although, as easy one, at this point. Continuity is when actions, behavior, and characterization are in accordance with information we have learned in the past. Continuity is not rehashing or discussing the past. End rant.
But, yeah. Um. Aside from just that above thing? TOTALLY ROCKED. Yee! My good friend Pat assured me that the season had a "turning point" thing at this episode. I approve! Therefore, I will choose to believe that this is a highly positive change until proven otherwise, maybe.

Friday
So, Angle, eh? Show about fishing or something?
The Angel episodes I haven't seen start on Monday. MONDAY! That's so ridiculously soon! So, of course, I figured that I should get around to watching the last episode I have taped. Since I've only had months to do it! Seriously! The commercials informed me that the final presidential debates had yet to take place when this episode was taped. Yikes!
Anyway, perhaps there was a reason I held off on watching this episode. Some prescient reason. As you'll be able to ascertain by reading the following disjointed review. It's in two parts. Sort of. Also, I'm typing this up at a very late hour. So, it's highly probable that none of this will make any sense, or that I won't, at some point in time, completely change my mind about things.
I think my final verdict is: "I would have liked it if so much didn't suck."
[Begin Spoiler for Angel Episode 5.11 "Damage" Highlight to view]
So, as I'm typing up this section, I have not finished watching the whole episode. I suppose I will, and I'll have a second half immediately following, however, I needed to stop my tape. In disbe-fucking-lief.
First, it's been a long time since I've seen this show. I barely remembered what was going on! It was almost like I was watching a brand new show. And you know what my first impression was? "This show is not very good." Seriously. If I were a new viewer, which the writers still apparently hope I might be, I would think this show sucked ass. The acting is not good. The writing is terrible.
But as I'm not a new viewer, I can add to that: GAAAAh! I never thought I'd say this, but shut up Gunn! Why can't you get rid of Eve, exactly? And, Angel, you went along with that, why? That scene angered me. Also? The, Spike, the. In the German. After a few months without him, I feel exactly the way Angel does. He's stupid and he's annoying and he's pointless. Are we supposed to think he's funny? Are those "witty" "quips" that he's dishing out? It was especially depressing to find that I knew exactly what was going to be said before it was. Gunn speaks in lawyer-fashion = "I was imbued with lawyer knowledge!" "Because we took over the law firm of Wolfram and Hart!" "That's right! They are evil, but we are not!" "Can we survive morally in such an environment?" "I don't know! Angel is our boss!" "He's a vampire with a soul!" "Here comes Spike, who serves no purpose but all we characters (save Angel) find him endearing anyway!" Angel: "I find Spike annoying and/or stupid." Spike: "[something annoying and/or stupid]."
Also - "I don't speak Chinese"? Fuck you, writers. Fuck you. Fuck you for reminding me that for a brief and fleeting time, I liked Spike, and he was cool. Fuck you for taking that memory and shitting all over it.
See also: referencing the Lord of the Rings. And now we come to the point where I stopped watching. Hi Andrew, Favorite of the writers and less discriminating fans alike. Let's help fuck up another show, eh? Oh wait, first, LET'S EXPLAIN THE CONCEPT OF THE VAMPIRE SLAYER.
This, gentle readers, is where I could no longer take it. "You've got to be fucking kidding me." Repeat x 12. I had the same reaction as Buffy on Graduation Day when she realized, "Oh my God. He's going to do the whole speech." You have GOT to be FUCKING kidding me. Is there anyone, anywhere, ever, who doesn't know about the slayer? I'm not even talking about people who watch the show. People alive. On the planet. In remote and desolate war-torn third-world countries. Are there people anywhere who DON'T ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THE CONCEPT OF THE VAMPIRE SLAYER?? I was so shocked and insulted that I actually had to stop my tape and begin typing this out to distract myself. I guess the "upside" is that we get to hear Andrew "explain" it in a "funny" way. Jesus Horatio Fucking Christ. I don't want to finish this episode.
But I will. Because I think the slayer chick is kind of cool. And because Pat will be crushed if I don't watch all of this season and formulate an opinion on it.
So. Yeah. I'll be back in a few.
31 minutes later. Huh. Well...? That was ... kind of ... okay? And yet ... still not good? I see now that we had to learn about slayers because they had to tell us how they rode roughshod over the mythology. Potential slayers have dreams and visions of other slayers? And they tap into each other's memories and shared experiences? Hey, you know what? Sure. What the fuck ever. I don't care.
I'd rather some things be dropped than see them handled badly. Case in point: the army of slayers. It honestly, made me feel sick to my stomach. Crazy slayer was an unforeseen thing, huh? Well, maybe they should have foreseen things like that before they did that idiotic spell. Maybe they should have thought a little harder before they subjected all of these innocent girls to a life full of monsters and darkness and searching them out and subverting them into this "army." And I'm so glad that Buffy is at the helm. Because all she ever wanted was a normal life, so of course it makes sense that she wants to rob thousands of other girls of their normal lives. Right? Right??
Do the writers have any idea what they've done?
Furthermore, Spike and Angel's little heart-to-heart? The terrible thing is that it could have been so interesting if I hadn't stopped caring years ago. If this all hadn't been made a joke years ago. I'll feel insulted if Spike starts feeling remorse now, after all I had to put up with. Also, I think it would have been hilarious if the loss of his hands had been permanent.
But, hey, at least now I know where Rob's title came from. That's always fun, because I never know some things are on-topic until I catch up. And then it's like finding a hidden reference! Also, "Like nickels?" made me snicker. I admit, that was pretty funny.
Mostly, though, I feel sad. I feel depressed.
[End Spoiler]
In other news, Lost wasn't very good this week. Except for the final minutes. That rocked, and almost completely made up for the lackluster-ness of the entire rest of the episode. A 9-double-em's no Barrow blade, but it'll do in a pinch when you need to take charge.
In yet further news, I hate all of humanity.

Well now what am I going to do with all these extra baby points?
So, Stephanie managed to have a baby several days ago, even though I didn't blog first! Unassisted!
Now there is a whole new person, filled with practical jokes and wizard powers. Or is there? Her parents keep promising that more pictures of Miss Irina are on their way, but what if they're lying? What if they only rented a baby for a single day for the photo ops? How do I know! There's only one way that I can be proven wrong.
Um. This is why I haven't blogged. I have nothing to say. I'm still painting cabinets. Still! You'd think I have a million cabinets, but I don't. I was thinking maybe tomorrow I'd watch (and review!) whatever it is Angel episode that I left off with. Because according to TNT, my reruns have almost arrived! Eee! I should be watching them again by next week sometime! Then you will all miss my days of non-updating, that's how many updates there will be. Or, you know, you won't miss anything, as you will have stopped reading long ago. You don't even know I'm writing this!
I think the lesson here is that the internet is a stupid place.
... I'm so brilliant.

This girl loves me!
A lot!
This site informed me that my score as a human is 90.05, and: "You are a pleasure to be with and a pleasure to be. Your friends do not envy so much as admire you, and you lead your life with grace, honor, and dignity. This site is humbled to have you take a test on it.
Which brings one to wonder, what are you doing goofing off on the Internet?"
Now that I have you wasting your time with that (thanks to bailunrui of The LiveJournal), you can ponder my other truly fabulous human qualities (the first being that I know you'd be too bored to read my results to all the quizes, so I'll just tell you what result names I got for each):
Better Sense of Humor - Sly Boots
Better Relationship - Rock of Gibraltar
Better Personality - Paul Begala (?)
Better Person - (see above)

In which I review a television show!
And it's "Lost"! See, last week, I was so bored and desperate for ... something, that I started posting on the TWoP message boards. Having been registered there for some 4 years and change. "What?" "Why?" and "Why?" are all valid responses. I won't go into it here, but suffice it to say, I don't plan on repeating the experience. Hopefully ever, but at least for another two or so years. [shudder ]
And then it occurred to me! Just as few people will read my thoughts on my blog! So why don't I write crap there? I'll release much less cortisol!
Short summary: I liked this episode very much. For a couple episodes, I was much dismayed, because it seemed like the show had broken its promise to keep on rocking. But this episode reassured me, though I don't know if I've had sufficient redress for the injuries done me. We shall see.
[Begin Spoiler for "Special" Highlight to view]
"THAT CHILD IS OF SATAN!"
I screamed this at my television when Walt was giving Mercutio the evil stink eye. I knew it! I knew the child was off! Of course, I say this like it's a big miraculously intuitive observation, when really, in hindsight, the show's been as direct about it as it's been about anything. Lucky my foot! John Locke knows where it is.
Speaking of which, I love Locke. He's totally not evil. Totally not. He's just misunderstood! He'll probably have to wind up facing off against whichever island child turns out to be the evil one. (My money's on Walt!) And hooray for Boone! Getting all "...nah" with Shannon. You don't need her, she a ho! Of course, one might say he's just traded one person to follow around for another. I mean, you could say that, but Locke is a much nicer master. Yess, precious. On that note - what was with the serious case of elf-ear Terry O'Quinn was sporting this evening? What's up with that? Do his ears normally look like that? On a similar note, it seemed like Harold Perrineau had pink eye or something funky going on in a few of the early scenes. Flashbacks and island scenes, so it's not any show-based injury. Aww. Poor guy. You rocked it with pink eye, dude! You can feel good about that!
Seriously, I really liked this story. If we set aside Walt's Stephen King inspired weirdness (his "shinn" let's say) no weird crap happens, which, honestly, is nice. I actually found Mercutio's and Claire's (ooh, and Locke's!) to be the most rewarding backstories. They actually focus on explaining the character rather than on confusing bank heists that are actually stupid. Who'd have thought? Stories focusing on normal people who have weird shit happen to them are more interesting than stories about hyper-special people who have weird shit happen to them. And I really felt like this explained a lot. Not all that much about what's going on on the island, though there was some of that too, but explained a lot about Mercutio and Walt's interactions, which then explains their interactions with others, and it's this whole nice illuminating experience that really makes me feel like this is a planned-out story, rather than some random shit and plot twists. I like that. As long as something is getting explained in a subtle and non-annoying way, I'm good.
Mercutio's ex-wife was kind of a dick, eh? And her husband was rather dicktactular himself. But Mercutio allowed Walt to believe that he, in fact, was the dick. Sacrificing for his son! The thing that no one thought he was doing was the thing he was doing all along! He was, in fact, the biggest person in the whole storyline! I sure hope Joss Whedon wasn't watching this. His head would have damn exploded. A biological father acting like a decent human being? You can't build good television on that!!!!
The ending riled me for the following reasons: 1. Locke, I love you. Boone, I love you too. But you are both fucking retarded. "Let's go wander around in the jungle at night blowing a whistle and calling for the dog! That's sound thinking! It's not like there's anyone out here who might abduct us and hang us, and there are certainly no WILD ANIMALS INTENT ON GUTTING US!" Jesus! I also like how the one time it actually is a person wandering through the forest making noise, they assume it's an animal. Well, at least it's not the other way around, for a refreshing change of pace. Seriously, though, these are some stupid castaways. There must be a mysterious mystical force on the island, because that's the only way to explain why they aren't all dead yet from their own stupidity.
2. And oh, look. There's Claire. Hey Claire! We've really missed you! Only not that much since no one's really been looking for you, and even your hobbit boyfriend seems pretty unconcerned about your week-long abduction by crazy people! How'd that work out, by the way?
Seriously, this is where I feel the show let me down. I don't care about two fake-out deaths. I liked last week's episode, and I didn't mind the hallucination thing, because I think it worked in well with the story. And I'm fine with the unsettling sex, because the "step" in front of "sibling" really does make all the difference. It doesn't make it better, but it does make it, you know completely different . I was actually musing to myself and considered writing why Boone is, perhaps, the most psychologically interesting character on the show. So I'm fine with that. I was mildly irritated that there was another Kate episode, and that it turned out to be pointless and nonsensical, and that Kate and Jack had a big fight one day, and then the next day are back making kissy-faces at each other. Can someone smack her, please? Charlie - don't encourage. Though I did like his hitty-fight with Sawyer. Dominic Monaghan really did play it like it was not an unusual experience for him, which was nice and fitting given his character. He's good hobbit. I was not, however, pleased with the maddening non-concern of everyone for Claire. No. Just, no. The ball is down. It is in the sand. Because the ball has been dropped. If she needs to stay away that long, either for contract or purely story-based reasons, then that's fine. But it pisses me the hell off the way they treated it. No one looked for her. And okay, maybe they couldn't for logistical reasons. But they could have planned to look for her. Someone could have tried to look for her. Someone could have expressed some more dramatic concern for her well-being, including perhaps some discussion about what they think might be happening to her. And what does Charlie have to say about all this? "It's funny." Yeah, it sure as fuck is, my friend. Just like your non-existant heroin withdrawal. If you mention it, that's just like dealing with it! Honestly, Charlie looks like he just got back from the Gap, not from cold sweats in a jungle. Honestly, Charlie looks like Claire left the vacinity for a little bit to go have a bath, not like she was taken prison by the same people who strung him up by the neck and left his corpse to rot. What is that about, Lost people? Please explain to me what that is about.
So, I liked this episode up until the end, which is not the fault of the ending so much as it is the fault of the past five or so episodes building up this disappointment in me. In two weeks time, I expect to see a formerly pregnant young lass letting verbally and maybe physically loose on these bitches. ... And I don't mean Stephanie!
I am interested in learning what this black rock business is all about though. Do they have some Oathbreakers on this island or something?
[End Spoiler]
So, there.
Oh, but before I forget: Blogger? Pat has asked that I kill you. No, it's for the best. You do tend to suck ass sometimes. I know, you thank me for my feedback.

Is it okay for me to like music again?
I mean, music on the radio. I want to be cautious.
I was listening to 95.5 PLG on my way back from my useless doctorb's appointment, and apparently they were having some sort of "all those bands people have been talking about but you've never heard because you never listen to the radio" hour. Here are some thoughts on the new popular music I have recently encountered (not all from today):
Franz Ferdinand & Afghan Whigs - Both courtesy of Katy. According to the boy, they get played on the radio, not that I'd know. But I like both! Both that one song that Franz Ferdinand has
and whatever song the other one is. For me, this is bordering on high praise. I can't find anything bad to say about them.
"Blvd Of Broken Dreams" (according to the radio readout) by Green Day - Having heard it now twice (and both times on the radio!) I say, "Yay!" Hooray for Green Day. I would really like to listen to their rock opera now, please.
Some song by Jet - So that's Jet, eh? Not bad, not bad. The radio people enthused afterwards that they really sounded like the Beatles. Well ... sort of. It really struck me during the song that they sounded like Oasis sounding like the Beatles, which is almost but not really the same thing. But I wasn't offended or anything. I thought it was pretty good.
Some song by The Killers - Likewise. I don't think I was paying a lot of attention to the song, but I do remember thinking both, "So this is the Killers" and "This doesn't suck."
That song by Santana and ... Alex Band? - OH! The dude from The Calling! Holy crap, I feel so much better. I've liked this song since I first heard it. It's one of those songs that I just like, and there's not much more to it. I just like it. But I was greatly worried that it was a song by Nickleback. And then I would have felt dirty, so I never endeavored to find out. But I enjoy the musical stylings of The Calling. Even though the dude does sound a bit like Chad Kroeger. But without becoming annoying! Which is what makes the difference. Because if Chad Kroeger and his musical cohorts didn't have that tendency to become extremely annoying, I'd have no problem with them. And good for you, Santana. +5 points. You had been slipping in my estimations of late, sir.
"Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane - I think that's the name of it. You know what I mean. That song that's already used as background music for every tv station's upcoming-season montage. I actually don't think I've ever heard the whole song all the way through. But I'm cool with it.
Sahara Hotnights - I got to listen to their whole album on the drive up from Maryland, and ... eh. I don't really see what all the fuss is about. The thing taken as a whole was kind of boring, and most of the songs were kind of the same. Crashing instruments and hard edged voices taking precedence over actual songcraft. Not to say that some craft wasn't there. Some of the songs I really liked. But they made me wonder why they are successful when there are so many bands like them who are not. Because it's weird to hear it coming out of Sweden? From chicks? I don't know.
I don't know why I've been blogging so much and so hapharzardly. My brain has been moving quickly and jumbly and I need an instant outlet. Figures that now there's no one to read! And by the time they filter back, my brain will have lulled again. Typical.

It is the thyroid!
The reason I have become an inflated balloon with random muscle cramps, is, indeed, because of the thyroid, my doctor confirmed this morning. I am at the moment, apparently, "a little hypothyroid" because all the radiation I had all that while ago (which, incidentally, should be all out of my system in ... Two Days?!?! You know what that means! Spish) is all right now "kicking in." I'm sorry if that last sentence was confusing.
Anyway, there is a possibility that it will stabilize, but until then, I'm going to be on some fake thyroid hormone. Ha! So we'll see how that goes.
In other news, all technology sucks and I hate it. Stupid technology.

Revenge of Zombie Foot!
I had a nice entry planned out yesterday, but unfortunately my first foray into making a Yahoo! photo album became an exercise in frustration and ultimate patience. You suck so bad, Yahoo! !
Anyway, without any more ado, ZOMBIE FOOT!
That's a damn lot of pictures of a creepy foot. The descriptions pretty much explain everything. I forget at this point which pictures I took to show progress or just, like, a change in the flash and composition. Also, Zombie Foot is fine now. I forgot to include a follow-up picture. Just assume it looks like my other, normal foot. There's still a little dark spot where the impact was, though.
Also! These pictures are thanks to my wonderful boyfriend, who got them off my camera and onto a CD for me. He's so useful. Like, say I really wanted to identify a model flying craft for geektactular (but possibley important - you never know!) reasons, he could instantly provide me with that information. This is not a complete list of reasons.
In other news, I am greatly concerned with the state of my body. It's all ... puffy. My face and various limbs seem far more ... round. Than before. Which I've noticed only in the past week. At first I was alarmed, because I thought I had gained a million pounds, and was ready to lay the blame at the thyroid (it's at about this time after the procedure that the whole slowly down thing is supposed to "kick in"). But, I don't know. Today I noticed that my hands seemed puffy. The ring that I occasionally wear and is typically loose left a pretty good mark when I took it off. That's ... something going on. Hopefully not something Chocolate Factory-esque. My mother suggested that it might be from sodium due to eating out and taking in most of my food of late. I've been drinking lots of water today. It still could be the thyroid. I hope it goes away.
In other body news, I've been getting a lot of muscle cramps, mostly in the hip area, but also in my shoulders and back. As mayhem will tell you, I am Bendy like a circus freak. So, in any given day, I arrange my limbs in many ways that most people typically wouldn't. But they're not unusual motions for me. But for the past couple weeks, I'll do something, swing my leg up, or stretch my arms, and some random muscle around a joint will seize up. The worst yet was today when I was setting up my Brand New Christmas Present DVD Player (note to above discussion: presents). I sat down into a somewhat tight space, and my entire right hip cramped. It wasn't really painful as much as it was hilariously and alarmingly incapacitating.
It occurs to me that this started soon after my birthday. I think my body is now officially Old. Or perhaps I could ask my useful boyfriend if I have some tropical disease. Or, I had blood work done today, so maybe that will turn up something.
Also, I need a ... internet money card. Thing.

Wednesday
I'm not surprised.
Even though the description doesn't really fit me. They need to designate, first half or second.
Also, I wasn't even born then, you old bitches!

what decade does your personality live in?
quiz brought to you by lady interference, ltd
Furthermore, I have remembered one of the things I had previously forgotten. This is official: I am calling a moratorium on all talking-animal movies. Indefinitely. Please. Someone needs to take action, and it's long past due. Everyone is demeaned. Thank you.

Monday
One year, so many movies.
I already think I've seen more movies/television this year than I did in all of last year. That can't possibley be true. But I have been watching a lot of DVD and ... television recording device ... recorded television. Whatever that thing is. Oh the technology!
I saw Matrix Revolutions, finally. My striking impression was that it was not as bad as I had been lead to believe by, oh, everyone in the free world. It wasn't that bad. At least in terms of the second one. I think the two were pretty much on even ground. Neither, of course, came close to matching the power and promise of the original. Anyway, the cheese factor was increased ("So cheeseball a Smith.") and I got much use out of my new best phrase, "This scene is for women!" I have some less PG rated variants, as well. And I interpretted the final message of the movie (from what I could figure out, and quite frankly, my brain was physically unwilling to spend any energy contemplating and nitpicking over most of it) to be, "You win by selling out." No, think about it.
Last night we watched a bad movie starring Terry O'Quinn, solely for that reason. Made in the 80s, the realization was made that it is nearly twenty years old. This explained, though didn't prepare me for, why Mr. O'Quinn was so much younger and leaner, and with much more hair. Still inimitably creepy, though. Ahh, good times.
Previous evening (?): Full Metal Jacket, lest I forget.
This evening: Cool Hand Luke, various leftovers, and then we settled down to watch The Two Towers on DVD. Extended Edition, natch. It is possible that only Beth will appreciate the full import.
Anyway, why did no one tell me that this film was such utter crap? Honestly. I really didn't ... get it. Like, the first film? Good. Third film? Good. Even though most of the book material was left off, and the book I adore. Second film? Who dropped the ball?
As I have stated in times past, I am not a book adaptation purist. I do not need to see everything in the book up on the screen. I don't even need to see them in the right order or place (cougholdmanwillowcough). I am fine with the "homage" or "shout out" when I can get nothing else. When the wrong character says a minor poem, but at least it's in there? When they make subtle references to book chapter titles? When a line or passage comes straight from the book, even when it's not one of the most beloved lines/passages? When the characters do not behave exactly as they do in the books yet somehow capture the precise essence of the characters? I love that. It makes me happy. It makes me feel like the filmmakers care, and I'm on the same page, right there with them.
Of course, the only way that can work is if the story that you present is the *actual* story. The Lord of the Rings is mythic. And I know from mythic, as they say. It's not the precise details that matter, but the story. The hard facts; the source. The source needs to be the same. When you change the basic fabric of the story, I get upset. That's when my brain hurts and my soul cries out to be avenged.
The second film, at best, is "loosely based" on the book of the same name. Any similarities to any work by Tolkien, living or dead, is purely coincidental. And the other films (with some exceptions, which I could bitch about, but were nothing jarring) were not. What is up?
I found myself, in my happiest watching moments, thinking, "That was pretty awesome. Even though it never happened." That's about the best I could hope for with it. And, honestly, some of the scenes (most of which, I observed, were not in the theatrical release) were pretty damn awesome. Especially the flashback with Boromir. O Sean Bean, you are a paragon, and I do adore you. Though not nearly as much as my boyfriend does. I've never seen "Sharpe," you see. Some day when I'm famous and poweful, I will devise a movie in which Sean Bean, Christopher Lee, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Walken, some other people that I like, are all in a film, nay, scene, together, and both of us will be satisfied that no other movie need ever be made. The opinion of others matters not.
So, there was some good, quickly done away with by the insulting bad. Insulting to me, anyway, I'm not telling anyone they shouldn't like the film. The boy informs me that the 47 minutes of extra footage really allowed the film some internal logic that it lacked in the theaters. So, good! And yet, oh yes, there's a damn there, didn't we say? Little things bug me. That whole "asking the white wizard" thing really fucked with me, because nothing after that made any sense.
Anyway. I have also discovered commentaries! So far we've listened to the cast commentaries of the second discs of both films. Yeah, I don't know either, but seriously, we started watching at about 8:30, and as I'm typing this it's almost 4AM. That's a lot of hobbit for anybody, man. Lot of hobbit. So, I'm finding these fascinating. What I find most interesting is learning who is the cast is, in fact, totally awesome (Bernard Hill), who is an enormous walking penis (Aston, Aston, Aston), who is pretty but not especially bright (Bloom, Miranda Otto -- side note: her character not fighting in battle at Helm's Deep was more true to the book than her doing so would have been. HAAAAAAAA! Oh honey.), who are entertaining and slightly deranged (Boyd and Monaghan), and who is a class act all the way (John Rhys-Davies, Ian McKellen, John Noble, most of the other fellows). And, of course, who I'd pay to see read phone books to each other (Sean Bean and Christopher Lee). I especially liked the one anecdote B&M gave where they referred to "Sean Bean" several times. No "Sean" or anything of that nature, but "Sean Bean." Some people, you just need to do that.
I am actually gad-fucking-exhausted right now. My head actually did hurt by the end of the movie, and I downed some painkillers as is my wont. So I'm feeling less pain. But I was half unconscious before the commentaries were even half over, so I'm surprising and alarming myself by staying up this late and typing all this out.
Um. I'm sure all the people I was talking smack about are potentially lovely people in real life.

Thursday
I knew I'd forget things.
So, as some readers know, when the Jupe has dreams, they tend to be nightmares. Like, 85 percent of the time. I had a dentist appointment on Monday, and while my dentist is no psychologist or anything, he suggested that these nightmares might be causing me to wear my teeth to nubs while I'm unconscious. I chipped off a piece of enamel on a back tooth! Neat! I guess. I refuse to wear a mouth thing, because then I will not be able to sleep at goddamn all.
Aw, shoot. There was one other thing. When I remembered that I forgot things, I remembered two things. But now I can't think of what the other was. Let's see ... muffins? ... holidays? ... dark humor? ... message boards? ... chicken?
Bah, I don't know. Um ... I have finally have pictures of Zombie Foot online soon. I know Pat will be happy about that. Y'know, if no one else.
Also, remember way back in the depths of time I made a post just to explain all the song-related references I use in entries? I mean to do that again. So, hold on to that thought for me. That reminds me! Must send an email!
I'm sure it will come to me.

Wednesday
"I HAVEN'T?!"
My response to being told that I haven't blogged lately. Hah! Well, I'm doin' it now, people! You'll be sorry you mentioned it, O Three People.
Um. I haven't been *not blogging* for the record. I just ... haven't. Not too much has been going on with me, I don't think, and if I have a story, and tell it to one person, that counts as it being told, and therefore it's over. And then there's nothing left to blog about.
I've been reading The Lord of the Rings, and that has been occupying much of my time. I've been rewriting certain segments to entertain me in twisted, geeky ways. I'm geeking out, folks. Like, even geeks, even Lord of the Rings geeks (except maybe that one girl Who Shall Not Be Named), would be, "Eh... that's a bit geeky."
You want a name, bitch? I got a whole sack full, how many you want? I could do this all day!
Heeee! And also, making lists of things, like, "Names and Places in Middle Earth That Sound Dirty But Really Aren't." Such as ... "Helm's Deep," uh ... "Wetwang" ... "Eorlingas" ... "The Lonely Mountain." And, of course, "Bilbo."
Happily, I have received the DVD set for Christmas! Oh, yes, Christmas! Well. That went well. We do stuff on the Eve, so I went up to my sister's. Then on Christmas Day, my mother and I just hung out at home, and she made a chicken, and we had a nice little Christmas dinner, and a fire, and just hanging out, and it was very subdued, but very nice. I was pleased. I got some nice presents in the way of clothes, warm-making items and .. some things. I don't know, I forget.
I'm not as good or thorough at holiday recapping than are some others. I need to update Pat on some things, but not until the future/past! Heee!
Oh! But here's a development! I'm off to Maryland for the New Year! So long, suckers! ... Um, I love you? Anyway. Uh. I expect Steph or Pat to inform me if they create new life, and as for the rest of you ... don't do anything of interest until I get back. And Beth can call me.
I think that is it. I knew I didn't want to update right now! It has come out like so much crap. I'm not even going to spell check.

Thursday
I knew something was going on!
So, I cleaned my room, including the parts of it I don't usually clean, yesterday. This made for dust, and dust made for allergies. My house is dustier than the average house, I think. I asked my father if he could bring me an air purifier, since he's always got things like that lying around. It turns out he was going to give me one for Christmas, but it's a better gift at the present time.
Then today I had no work, so I washed all my bedclothes (including my winter blanket for its first use this year) and then I waxed some parts of my face where I'd rather people didn't know I grew hair. Whoops! That cat's outta the bag. I'm presentable, though. My employer hasn't called me, so I assume I have no work tomorrow. But that's okay!
Because tomorrow I get to be an extra in a short film! And not like a student film, neither. Like, an "experimental SAG" short film, written by someone whose name I find on a fair number of pages when looking through Google, and a director who is supposedly important but who is as yet unidentified. [eyebrowmonkey] They will not pay me, but they will feed me.

You Are a Visionary Soul |
You are a curious person, always in a state of awareness. Connected to all things spiritual, you are very connect to your soul. You are wise and bright: able to reason and be reasonable. Occasionally, you get quite depressed and have dark feelings. You have great vision and can be very insightful. In fact, you are often profound in a way that surprises yourself. Visionary souls like you can be the best type of friend. You are intuitive, understanding, sympathetic, and a good healer. Souls you are most compatible with: Old Soul and Peacemaker Soul |
Because ... pretty much, yeah. Although I'm always bothered when I get things like "visionary." What's that about?
Two words that made everything better.
Cheese. Biscuits.
My father took me to Red Lobster today. (After three doctor's appointments, and a trip to the mall in which I had to wait for him to finish rummaging through the Sports Authority. Bah.) I have only been to a Red Lobster one other time, and it was nearly four years ago. Red Lobster's cheese biscuits are my holy grail of food, like Arizona sweet tea is my holy grail of beverages. Vastly moreso, my friends, because of the number of years involved, and the times I have *tried* to get into a Red Lobster and been thwarted, my dreams of cheese biscuits crushed forever.
THEY ARE SO GOOD. I had four, and then my stomach threatened to sue me, so I had to stop. But, it's like, everything is better now. The magical cheese biscuits made everything okay.
Later, I went back to a book store, this time Barnes & Noble with my mother, where we waited at a book signing for Lidia Bastianich. Hopefully someone (other than Annika) knows who she is. Two hours! Not bad. It was my first book signing. I met some nice folk, including a three-year-old girl who was remarkabley well-behaving after standing in a line for two hours. Lidia dedicated the book to my zia, Patrizia. And then she was all, "Ooh, who is Patrizia?" Lying is awesome! But my Auntie Pat will be very happy, we believe. She loves Lidia. Furthermore, I now have a recipe for crostatas.
In conclusion, "You should not rely on any acting job to pay your bills or keep you happy; you need a day job for your paycheck and a hobby for your sanity." 1:2.

Wednesday
And Roger will attempt to write a bittersweet evocative song...
I'm not sure if I'm more likely to cry, scream, or go completely insane.
Probably that first one. I've got a good streak going on.
HOLY SHIT how I did not miss writing entries like this.

Drunk?
Hi! Pat has suggested that upon consuming of alcohol, I should post drunkenly. At least, I think that's what he said. And so I have!!
Which is to say, my mother took me out for dinner, and in there I had some beverages. Like, so few. I had a glass of red wine (my mother told me I wouldn't like red wine, because she doesn't, but I have sipped white wine in the past, and that sucks), it was shiraz! From Australia! I felt very good. And then !! Then! I had port. PORT! Aren't you proud of mE? And then I had dessert, which is not wine.
I assume that I'm disappointing everyone because this is mostly (?) free from typos. Is it? Anyway. I'm not drunk. Or .. I don't know. My mother spilled booze on me but it was entirely accidnetal. And yesterday I was plastered! Heee! And I reeked of booze. so, it's a thoroughly fulfilled event, even if I'm only somewhat woozy, after having a minimal number of alcohol. If you could watch me, though, I am very close to the keyboard, and going slowly because I don't know what kerys these are. Also!!!! There have been typos. But I corrected them. Unless I didn't, in which cae, ... I didn't. I'll try not to correct any more, if I can. zzi hope I don't barf vomit.
I'm still waiting for a bunch of bitches to call me!! And ,... boozwe. Booze? Booe.
The end.

Got a feeling twenty-one is gonna be a good year.
Holy crap. I am twenty-one. Wow. That was fast.
For my birthday, my mother has given me an iPod mini. Which means that at some point during the next week, I am going to be making an entry complaining about USB ports and begging for assistance. At first I was nonplussed! I don't want no Mac technology! But it's so tiny! That's cool. I hope we needn't return it due to its not working. Sigh.
Also, I am all caught up on my Joan of Arcadia recaps. Last night, after I finished my kitchen project at exactly midnight - I got ready for bed and watched my first taped episode, "Friday Night." That episode kicked. my. ass. But in an okay fashion.
So far the day of birth has been quietly meaningful and meaningfully quiet. So far so good! Later, I plan to have one, possibley two drinks of alcohol, and then I will be drunk. Bless my adorable alcohol intolerance.
Oh, I did get that job, by the way. It's pretty cool beans. The lady I work for is a million times less a flake now that she has realized how awesome I am. I'm still trying to figure out when and how I will get gifts for Christmas and for the rest of my December babies. It would be easy to buy things there, but everything is ridiculously expensive. What's with the prices? Are we paying for the atmosphere? Sigh. At least it's fun to know that some of the gift baskets I make go for $165 a pop! I am awesome!
Also, I request that anyone in the know please not point out the irony in my title. I'm well aware.

Wednesday
I love this show.
Lost babble.
Seriously, I love this show. I love it more than anything else in the world.
Okay, that's blatantly untrue. There is a list of things I love more. But less than you'd think! LESS THAN YOU'D THINK!
I love it so much, I'm marketing for it .
[Begin Spoiler for Lost - "Raised By Another" Highlight to view]
Thanks to Buffy, I was allowed the following thought process:
Lost: "Rohm."
Brain: "Oh! Like Elisabeth!"
Lost: "R-O-M"
Brain: "Oh! Like the gypsies!"
Brain: "..."
Brain: "That ain't right."
Even though I was totally suspicious of that dude before. I mean, I thought it was a weird way to integrate the other extraneous castaways, but it really seemed like that dude was all suddenly "there." And I also barked out "Why are you so suspicious?!" when he was being all evasive to Hugo (HEE!). And you knew that was gonna happen. You know what I mean.
This is totally like a story. Up until now, the whole show has been built on mystery. That's typically bad, because you have to reveal what's going on sooner or later (and if it's later, people get bored) and you have to have a story that's worth it. So far, from what I can surmise, Lost does. ...Fingers crossed.
Also, HOLY SHIT!!

Saturday
My aching feet.
I originally wrote "fett" but that's neither here nor there.
Oh my God my feet! I have been standing on them all day. I have at least two blog entries, and I didn't really know which one to make, but I guess that's decided now as I'm making this one. Lucky people! This one is about me. The other one is about why "Love Actually" is a horrendous movie. I know, I'm out of the girl club. I don't like chocolate, either. Or shopping.
Anyway! I guess the first order of business is Thanksgiving. A+! I read my livejournal friends list, and a lot of people were bitching about the fact that you're supposed to have a huge familial gathering on Thanksgiving, and they're depressed and angry that they don't have one. Well, funk that! You know what my big Thanksgiving was? My sister came over. That's all! But what made it A+ was that sweet potatoes were eaten by me. It was a communal food making and eating experience, just like that story that ABC News had. So there. The best part about Thanksgiving is days of left-overs. So just make a lot of food! Eat it later. Merry Everything.
Also, I may have a job. I'm still waiting to find out, because, as my mother just said nary a minute ago, "That idiot woman never called you?" It's about wrapping Christmas parcels for a gift co. I am both over-qualified and over-talented for it, and I only have the nerve to say that because the lady was terribly fastidious over a job that she later admitted she usually hires high school people for. I mean, who she be kiddin'! But she said she'd call me "by this weekend," so that's what I'm waiting on.
My mother and I have begun redoing the kitchen. Yesterday we chipped and sanded the hell out of everything, and then painted the ceiling. The woodwork had been done last weekend. And today I began Venetian Plastering! I am plaster happy. But only in the kitchen. It provides a bright and above all clean and attractive atmosphere for a place devoted to preparing food. I'd never put it in a living room or anything, though. I think it would feel too cold. But I completed one section of my total 5 planned out sections, and then I'm texture painting the tiles (which sadly, we cannot remove, as the walls are all gross behind) to look like stone. And then we're staining the cabinets green and getting new pulls. Nothing to be done about the floor (or countertops) at the moment, but, someday. I should have taken before pictures. Maybe I'll take after! That will have less time constraints.
Also, there are So Many Questions.
Furthermore, the phone line on which my modem resides has mysteriously ceased to function, so right now it's on-line on the main-line. Heh. It's okay, we rarely have phone calls, and anyone who would be calling this late for emergency purposes would call a cell phone. But I don't know what's up with that. The internet and I are still on speaking terms, but our relationship is strained. I just looked up some lyrics and now I'm getting to reading a recap. Woo hoo!
Something ... something more.
And, DUDE! MY BIRTHDAY IS ON SATURDAY. SATURDAY!!!!!!!!
That is all. Carry on with your intended business.

Tuesday
So true, so true.
Though, idealy, I would have been sweet potatoes. God damn I want some sweet potatoes.
Also, I took the "How Like Your Sign Are You?" quizzes for both Sagittarius (my sun and ascendant signs) and Capricorn (my moon sign). I am 60% like Sagittarius, and 40% like Capricorn. Interesting.

Monday
Surprise!
Guess what! I was away all weekend in the South. NONE OF YOU KNEW THAT! Heehehehehee!!
I'm sorry. I don't know why that amuses me so much. I am so strange. Anyway, the person with the least idea of my whereabouts was Tiny Annie, who I saw ... okay, Saturday. (I was about to say, "Holy shit! Was it yesterday?" But it wasn't.) I had, prior to the weekend, intended to make a post about all the people I haven't seen in an insane amount of time (okay, um, not "all." Just the ones I'm very fond of, which is a much much smaller number), and she was going to be on there. Score! Fixed that problem.
Also, when I first saw her it was from the back of a theatre and I had to wait until intermission to get all up in her grill. So I was trying to find her in the crowd, and my precise thought was, "Well, my best option at the moment is that girl up front with the pigtails." I'm so perceptive. Also, when she was all afar, I was reminded of how adorabley tiny she is, and then when we were up close, I was reminded that ... we are the exact same height. Still. Sigh. But I'm always taller when she wears flip flops.
I will build a machine that transports me rapidly through space, and costs nary a cent. My first stop will be to the Pants's. Because I miss my Pants. I'm going to have to get on that.
Also, the boy and I watched the film Secretary (and also some episodes of Stargate SG-1. Yeesh). It was very little like what I was expecting. For starters, I didn't know James Spader was in it. SO WEIRD AND CREEPY. Ah, James Spader. We were entertained like the vastly mature people we are.
Also, I saw the latest Joan, Kirk. Because I couldn't tape it, so I just. watched it. I know, I'm proud of me, too.

Two weeks??! I can't wait that long!
Alternately titled: Lost. Hot. Damn.
Dear all my friends who have thus far not started watching LOST. Do it. I don't want to heard your lame excuses. "Oh, I have no time, I've already committed to watching other shows, blah blah wah blah wah." Stop doing other things! You have no better use for your time, I'm telling you. Just ... no. Just watch it. That's my bottom line. Watch it.
I cannot wait two weeks! But then the next new episode is totally going to be C+C centric, and I am all about that. [exalts ] Although, it's too bad that it's now completely obvious
[Begin Spoiler for What is completely obvious. Well, if you watched the latest episode "Solitary"and the previews for the next. Highlight to view]
It's Alex. Totally. Cracking Naveen Andrews on the head, attacking Claire (most likely for a slew of Oepidal reasons). Yeah. Totally. Oh well. Perhaps he's disfigured! With hives.
[End Spoiler]
In other news, there is sawdust everywhere. EVERYWHERE. I hate sanding.

Friday
Well, that was easy.
I totally do have an agen..cy. They just, apparently, didn't bother to tell me!
I thought perhaps that this evening I would call my cousins. I haven't talked to them in ... a million years, and yet they regularly turn up in my dreams. So maybe that's a sign of some sort.
In other news, I'm watching so much television that I can't even keep track of it anymore. I'm going to start watching Joan of Arcadia again because I accidentally caught the preview for this week's episode and now I really have to see it. But before I see it, I have to read the recap of the 16 episodes I missed. ... Before 8PM tonight. So, I'm taping the episode, and I'll watch it eventually. But sometime before that, I'm going to have to watch the Smallville episode that I taped, even though Pat already told me what it was all about. Jesus. Being a slacker is hard work.

Oh no!

Jamie Marie, Victor, laser_doc, Marsia, starshine, Boo, Annie, Rob, Christine, Samantha, angel29, Angie, Nemesis, inertia, Helen, Valerie, Gandalf, Starshadow, Becca, Zeus, jadde, Zer0 Signal, Demon Girl, fetterdave, and CassyLee.
Never get deleted, yo. Never. Stick around for all time. For the following reason: if I still had my original restristration date, I would be the first name on the second page of the user list, sorted by registration date. If one of you were to cease to hold your position on said list, my name would, in spirit, be on the first page. This is alarming and wrong and should not come to pass.
You may now continue with your business.

Tuesday
Furthermore.
I eat dinner with my mother, and we watch ABC for most of the duration. Except Wheel of Fortune, because that's a stupid show. But, local news, Petey Jennings, Jeopardy! with the nerd. The whole thing. Even though my mother said she's getting bored with the nerd, because he always wins. And, as if in response to her gripings, it was an EPIC BATTLE on Jeopardy! tonight, during which Ken Jennings had to beat off two other nerds with his D&D magic staff. I imagine that when the cameras stopped rolling, he immediately turned to the man at his left and screamed: "Oh! You thought you could beat me?? I'm Ken Jennings, bitch!"
Anyway. I, lately, though I love the other Jennings man, have not wanted to watch the news. Like, at all. I've been rather success at not seeing the fucking news at all since last Tuesday. Although I do know that a 57 year old woman just gave birth to twins, and a news preview told me that one of Bush's cabinet was retiring.
Me: "Is it Bush?!?"
Mother: "No."
Me: "Is it Cheney??!?"
Mother: "I don't think so."
Me: "Is it Ashcroft? Rummy? Who??"
Mother: "I don't know!"
It was Ashcroft, incidentally, if you, like me, have been avoiding such things. And also the secretary of Commerce.
Anyway, instead of watching the news, I opted to watch The Secret Garden on HBO. Because it's a fucking fantastic movie. Because of that movie, and almost solely because of that movie, Agnieska Holland is on my list of best loved directors. It's one of the most beautifully directed films I've ever seen. My mother didn't want to watch this, either. She asked, "Yeah, how many times have we seen this ?" Even though I had to tell her what, exactly, it is we were watching.
And then, at the end, where they're all playing merrily in a field of heather, I turned to her and asked, "How could you ever get tired of this??" And then I burst into tears. With no warning whatsoever. I can't tell if this means that I am an enormous Girl, or, like, mentally unstable.

The Year of Jupe is back on track!
For the most part. I still don't know about the agency. (All your praise is too soon! Plus -- I didn't really do anything
) I went there today to drop off my headshots, and ... did exactly that. Hooray!? They were all "Great! Thanks! You may go." So I guess I will wait for someone to call me.
But in definite good news -- I have health insurance! Which I wasn't going to have, because I'm covered under my mother's plan, and it only covers me so long as I am a full time student, which, of course, I no longer am. But I have a new plan! That will mysteriously cover me at least until I become (maybe) a full time student again. Or a megastar. Either way. This is vastly important as I am a monumentally ill person, and need much in the way of doctor's visits and drugs and wacky, wacky procedures.
And furthermore, I know that everything will be alright, because I have had a sign from on high. Today, I was in the Port Authority of New York. I rather know this place, as I proverbially know my hand. Yet as I was preparing to go home, I wanted beverage, and I couldn't find any places selling such on the second floor. So I headed over to the escalators to the 400 gates. (That's right! 400!) And there, a fooding stand was selling Arizona Sweet Tea. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
As my readership may or may not be aware... well, let me start from the beginning. Many years ago, I was at my southern beau's house, and his mother inquired of me if I should like some "iced tea." And I was all, "Well sure!" And so then she started making ... tea! What? (I'm a total yankee.) And this mysterious "sweet tea" concoction was the most awesome thing I have ever had, ever.
Then, this past summer when I was commuting to class, I stopped in a little shop in the train station, and saw that they were selling a sweet tea, as marketed by the Arizona Tea Company. Awesome! Thought I. And ye, it was good. It was totally, totally good, because Arizona makes delicious addictive beverages. But what then? When I went back, THEY HAD NO MORE. No more. And they never got more. And I never found it again. Ever. So I've been searching for it for the better part of six months.
And I found it. Yay! I went to the counter and asked, "How many do you have?" Which is why I walked away with $18 worth (9 bottles) of tea.
If I could top this all off with a Rufus Wainwright concert, I'd be set.
It has been such a good day. Except my chest is still broken out. That's not good. [/depressing footnote]

Saturday
It's Good News Week!
I may, possibley, have an agent.
In other news, I was wondering if it would be possible to ... explain global warming to me. Because I ... may not believe in it. But wait! Don't kill me! I more insanely don't think I know what the hell it's about. So, if I could get some help on that, that would be good. I don't want to transform into a hyperconservative apologist or anything. But, uh... yeah!
I have nothing to say about anything else.
